Continuing its commitment to an open dialogue with the local community, Broadview is pleased to present the latest results from its wind monitoring at the site of the proposed Pilrow wind farm. The first update was provided in December following completion of the first full month of monitoring during October, and the dataset has now been augmented by these latest findings.
The average wind speeds recorded at the Pilrow site during November and December have come in at an impressive 6.3m/s and 8.3m/s respectively, measured at 70m above ground level. The average wind speed recorded over the final three months of 2011 was 7.1m/s. The meteorological mast recording the data is due to remain on the site until September 2013 and, in the event that planning consent for a wind farm is achieved, the data gathered will enable Broadview to select the right wind turbine model, maximising the renewable energy produced by the project.’
